Every woman has a different breastfeeding journey. Mine started off with me exclusively pumping for 2 months. I knew that if I couldn’t get him to latch that I would at least pump for him instead. Even though I made pumping our new norm, I still longed for that unbreakable bond. I needed the extra convenience that breastfeeding would grant me.

I will never forget the day. Our very first latch. I was overjoyed and felt a sigh of relief like Pam from The Office when she first latched Ci-Ci. I remember thinking that it didn’t hurt as bad as people were saying, which eventually changed. I remember alerting my partner that we had finally beat the final boss. We latched.

Since then, I’ve been exclusively breastfeeding for 9 months & it brings me an exuberant amount of pride and happiness. My only issue is that breastfeeding moms are still seen as taboo & somewhat unorthodox. How can something so natural be treated like it’s so abnormal? I wanted to change that or at least bring confidence to my fellow mothers.

From there, Happily Breastfeeding/Breastfed aka HB came about.
